Adoption Books: "At Home in This World, a China Adoption Story".
At Home in This World, a China Adoption Story, written by Jean MacLeod, features the story of a nine year old girl as she addresses the issues of her own adoption. The international adoptee faces challenges that are unlike any other child. In addition to being adopted, the child also is living in a world unlike the one where they were born. The child often has a foot in both their birth country and their new adopted home. Along with author Jean MacLeod, At Home in This World was illustrated by Qin Su. From Liaoyaun China, Su is a teacher and portrait artist. At Home in This World, a China Adoption Story, is a wonderful way to
support your daughter as she begins to wrestle with some of the issues
surrounding her adoption. Jean MacLeod is the mother of two adopted girls from China. She is an
advocate for adoption awareness for prospective parents looking for assistance.
She also works with the Spaulding for Children Post-Adoption Resource
Coalition. She is a writer who has contributed to Adoptive Families Magazine,
Adoption Today and in the book Passage to the Heart. She is also involved
in the Families with Children from China-Metro Detroit chapter. |
