Adoption Tip of the Day

SHARE YOUR ADOPTION TIPS

Talk, talk, talk. I was amazed at how quickly I developed a group of other adoptive families in my community and neighborhood who had adopted children internationally. It just seemed that once I started telling people that my husband and I were adopting from Russia, everyone I told new someone else who had.

So many conversations started with me telling about our adoption and then turned to, "Really! My brother/sister/best friend adopted from Russia."

The contacts I made by talking about our adoption were a great resource for advice and a big help when I needed to vent.

I don't think you can tell enough people about your plans--the people you network with will be the ones you have the most in common with.
