China Adoption
If we thought we were falling in love just from gazing at her photos every day, that was nothing compared to the rush of deep emotions we felt on December 27th when Huanyi was placed in our arms. It was unbelievably comparable to the experience of holding your first-born child for the first time. We gazed into the little almond eyes we had only seen in photos, delighted in her impish grin and held her tiny little body close…. Let me tell you, there is NO other Christmas gift that can compete with that! Since arriving home with Maya (Huanyi), life has been full of changes! Parenting a 2 year old in your forties is a bit of a shock to your system and way of life, but we wouldn’t trade this experience for ANYTHING. The joy and emotional rewards we are receiving from Maya every day are worth EVERYTHING. When I hear her little voice say, “I Lu U Mommy”, or hear her laugh and clap her hands yelling, “Yay Daddy”, as she runs across the floor to greet Mike in the evenings. . . that feeling is worth One Million Dollars!
Yes, Maya truly has been the most incredible Christmas Gift we have ever received! I know it’s a little early, but have you thought about what you want for Christmas this year? It could be YOUR BEST Christmas ever!! Mike , Deb & Maya Miller If you are even the tiniest bit curious about adoption, feel free to visit our adoption website: www.blessedbyadoption.com or visit our adoption agency’s website: (America World Adoption Association – they are wonderful!) www.awaa.org. If you would like information on offering financial support to families who are adopting the world’s orphans, visit www.shaohannahshope.org. Shaohannah’s Hope is a non-profit foundation, established by Grammy Award winning artist Stephen Curtis Chapman, who has 6 children, 3 of whom were adopted from China. Of course, Mike and I would always welcome questions from prospective parents! |
