Russia Re-Accreditation

The Gladney Center for Adoption:

FORT WORTH, Texas, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- On June 9, 2005, The Gladney Center for Adoption received official notification of re-accreditation in Russia. The certificate was issued to Gladney staff on June 10, 2005. The Gladney Center for Adoption was initially accredited in Russia in December of 2000 when the government required all agencies to apply for accreditation, and has been continuously re-accredited. However, Gladney's Russian program closed December 15, 2004 when the Russian government transferred adoptions from the Education section into the Administration section and the regulations were re-written. No procedures were in place to reaccredit agencies until May 2005.

Since Gladney's Russia program began in 1994, approximately 450 Russian children residing in Russian orphanages have found permanent homes. In order to maintain its accreditation status is Russia, The Gladney Center has met all of the requirements established by the Russian government. Gladney looks forward to completing many more adoptions from Russia.

Gladney is one of the oldest and largest maternity homes and adoption agencies in the United States. Gladney has placed over 26,000 children from here and around the globe since the agency was founded in 1887.
