Center for Cultrual Interchange seeks host families for "Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX)"

As the parent(s) of an internationally adopted child (or children), we value your familiarity and passion for inter-cultural understanding and compassion. The Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI) would like to continue this international awareness by informing you of the unique opportunity to host an exchange student from your child’s country of origin for an academic year. It has come to our attention that many adoptive families would like to make their children’s culture a part of their upbringing. We are currently placing exchange students from Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

For 12 years CCI has successfully placed Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) participants, enabling outstanding high school students from the former Soviet to complete an academic year in the United States on U.S. Congressional scholarships. The students have above average scholastic achievements and have personal characteristics essential to intercultural adjustment. These bright kids are eager to gain an understanding of democracy and an open society. Upon their return home, they are motivated and prepared to serve as agents of change and improvement with the knowledge and skills acquired while in the U.S.A.

FLEX Students are provided with round-trip airfare, health insurance, monthly stipends, and a settling-in allowance as well as counseling, support services, and special excursions/activities. As a volunteer host, we would like you to consider accepting one of these exceptional students into your home by providing room and board and involvement in host activities.
