China Adoption Travel Itinerary

Each group traveling to China will have a unique itinerary. A mix of bonding, shopping, sightseeing, paperwork and parenting is the norm. Here is a sample from one of the families who contributes to our site. They adopted their daughter from Chao Hu in the Anhui Province of China.

Saturday	Leave Newark for Beijing
Sunday	Arrive in Beijing, 12:55pm staying at: Holiday Inn Downtown Beijing
Monday	Visit the Great Wall. An acrobatic show in the evening. One hour ten minutes.
Tuesday	Visit Tiananman Square Tour Forbidden City. Lunch in family's home in Hutong area of Beijing Tour Hutong on bike and foot Dinner at Hard Rock Café Travel to airport for Heifi-- Dept. time: 9:30pm. Arrive in Hefei at 11:10pm. Stay at: Novotel Accor Hotel
Wednesday	9:30a.m. Caregivers arrive at hotel with babies! Starting bonding period. 3:00p.m. Start Visa Paperwork
Thursday	Bonding Time. Nearby Sightseeing
Friday	Visit orphanage in ChaoHu by bus. Lunch at Hotel in ChaoHu.
Saturday	Bonding and local sightseeing. Fly to Guangzhou at 7:45pm, arrive in at 9:50pm. Stay at Victory Hotel
Sunday	Local Sightseeing and shopping. Visit Temple
Monday
Tuesday	Visa photos for babies and do the medical in the morning. Fill in the paper in the afternoon.
Wednesday	Visa appointment at 9:00am Bonding, sightseeing and shopping in the afternoon.
Thursday	Consulate ceremony at 3:00pm. Visas will be ready afterwards.
Friday	Flight Depart for return to U.S. via Hong Kong
Saturday	Arrive in U.S.

If you sign up your home phone for China plan, it is cheaper for people at home to call you while you are in China. Remember you have to have a plan.
All hotels there have an internet access in your room. It costs about 12cents/minute in Beijing. Novotel & Victory are free. The business centers in hotels can do email too.
China domestic airlines check-in luggage is 20kg, which is 44lb per person. Any over weight will be fined. Pack your luggage lightly. You can almost get anything in China.
