The Gladney Center Family Adopts Triplets From
China
FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was
released today by The Gladney Center for Adoption:
Gladney's first set of triplets from China will be home
in August.
Gladney's first internationally adopted child came home to the
United States from Shanghai, China in March, 1994. Since that
time, over six hundred Gladney families have adopted precious baby
girls from China. However, Gladney's first set of triplets is
expected to be in their new home by the end of August. The
triplets are from Guigang City, Guangxi Province, which is in the
southwest region of China, near Vietnam.
On May 25, 2004, three little girls were found abandoned and
a
note with the children stated that they were triplets. The
infants were 3 days old when found. With the approval of the
civil affairs bureau of Guigang City, the babies were sent to the
Guigang City Social Welfare Institute. The local public security
department attempted to find the parents, but was not successful.
On May 29, 2004, the girls were officially admitted to the
orphanage and have lived on the orphanage campus ever since. The
infants were first seen by their adoptive parents, David and Mary,
when they were 3 months old. David and Mary are in China and
expect to return to the United States with their daughters about
August 29, 2005.
The Gladney Center for Adoption has completed over 1500
international placements since the international program began in
1994. Gladney facilitates adoptions in several countries around
the world including Russia, Mexico, Guatemala, Ukraine, and
Colombia and, of course, China. Gladney is quickly becoming
recognized for international adoption. "The international program
has become an integral component in The Gladney Center's success,"
says Mike McMahon, President.
