Vietnam Adoption Agencies

Vietnam Adoption has reopened and a number of adoption agencies have begun work with the country serving prospective adoptive parents and children.

Vietnam and the U.S. State Department have officially begun licensing international adoption agencies. There are very few U.S. based agencies with programs in Vietnam but several European countries have had programs for some time.

In 2003, the government of Vietnam halted international adoption because of a lack of standards in the provinces of the country. Vietnam has now established a 'Federal International Adoption Department' as part of the Ministry of Justice and  signed an agreement with the U.S. Government in 2005
